2021-10-19 18:30:02 When producers can't pass inflation to consumers, deflation is coming

Stock markets have closed a week really incredible: it seemed almost to be already in Christmas rally! In the middle of the month we find today a Dow Jones, SP500 and Nasdaq with an increase of about +4%: Europe follows but does not keep pace with EuroStoxx, DAX and FtseMib around +2%. All of us (myself included) did not expect a recovery of this kind, especially within macro framework in which we find ourselves (more on this in the final part of the article). From a technical point of view the rise was not particularly supported by the primary hand but in our opinion a careful stock picking was done by smart investors. Almost all major markets have reversed upwards on our sentiment indicator, although we don’t believe that picture is all clear on the horizon.

Mercati azionari che hanno chiuso una settimana davvero incredibile: sembrava quasi di essere già nel rally di Natale! A metà mese troviamo ad oggi un Dow Jones, SP500 e Nasdaq con un rialzo del +4% circa: l’Europa segue ma non tiene il passo con EuroStoxx, DAX e FtseMib intorno al +2%. Tutti (me compreso) non ci aspettavamo un recupero di questo genere soprattutto all’interno del quadro macro in cui ci troviamo (approfondimento nella parte finale dell’articolo). Dal punto di vista tecnico la salita non è stata particolarmente sostenuta dalla mano primaria ma a nostro parere è stato fatto un attento stock picking dagli smart investors. Quasi tutti i mercati principali hanno invertito al rialzo il nostro indicatore di sentiment, anche se non crediamo che sia tutto chiaro il quadro all’orizzonte.

Week starts with a slight downtrend started from our key level at 15620. There is a lot of reluctance to go down even if the bearish targets of this movement are interesting. 15420/15380 first zone retracement should bring the prices 15260/240 area which also corresponds to the closing gap on the future.

Cycle update: DAX is close to a turning point and change in the trend is expected as already written in previous days between Wednesday and Friday, let's see!

The daily Volume Profile candle built yesterday is really ugly: volumetric clots in a few areas and incredible gaps. 64K volumes and 205 points of range: 15420 and 15360 volume peaks on sale, while resistances are found at 15340/15310.

Yesterday was really a strange day on DAX & all markets. Throughout ascent there has been an accumulation of short positions, I think will see vent next week: at moment I see only intraday opportunities or as already said yesterday, who is suffering to wait for "better times".

I wasn't expecting this deep bullish leg, but that's the risk taken by those who get exposed before things happen!

Buongiorno trader DAX!

La candela giornaliera Volume Profile costruita ieri è davvero brutta: coaguli volumetrici in alcune aree e vuoti incredibili. 64K volumi e 205 punti di range: 15420 e 15360 i picchi di volume in vendita, mentre le resistenze si trovano a 15340/15310.

Ieri è stata davvero una giornata strana sul DAX e su tutti i mercati. Durante tutta la salita c'è stato un accumulo di posizioni short, penso che si vedrà lo sfogo la prossima settimana: al momento vedo solo opportunità intraday o come già detto ieri, chi soffre aspetti "tempi migliori".

Non mi aspettavo questa profonda gamba rialzista, ma questo è il rischio che corre chi si espone prima che le cose accadano!

Positive move continued on the markets, especially in Europe.

DAX in the opening rips up again approaching final target of the bullish movement that we expected 15380/15400 index (cash value) that corresponds to very important volumetric levels also on the future.

Il DAX in apertura risale avvicinandosi al target finale del movimento rialzista che ci aspettavamo 15380/15400 di indice (valore di cassa) che corrisponde a livelli volumetrici molto importanti anche sul future.

US consumer prices outpace forecast. Headline CPI rose 5.4% vs +5.3% expected, matching the largest annual gain since 2008. Excluding the volatile food and energy components, so-called core inflation rose 4%.

I prezzi al consumo negli Stati Uniti superano le previsioni. L'IPC principale è aumentato del 5,4% rispetto al +5,3% previsto, corrispondente al più grande aumento annuale dal 2008.
