The term 'Caste' is a modern word without any meaning that derives from the Portuguese language (usually used to scorn the Vedic system of varnasramas). The actual term to use would be 'Varna' (varṇa, वर्ण), wich means 'colour', or 'Jati' (jāti, जाति), wich means 'birth'.
