Ci sarà un documentario ufficiale dedicato a Michael Jackson! Se ne parla da tempo ma solo ora si intravedono i primi dettagli dell'operazione che affiancherà la sceneggiatura di "John Logan" e la produzione di "Graham King" (in collaborazione con l'Estate di Michael Jackson). Il tutto distribuito worldwide da "LionsGate". Il titolo dovrebbe essere semplicemente "MICHAEL". Al momento il progetto non ha ancora un regista ma le premesse sono decisamente buone. Prima fra tutte, il fatto che Graham King, recentemente impegnato nella produzione del biopic "Bohemian Rhapsody" sui Queen, è un grande fan del re del pop. Ha passato gli ultimi cinque anni a documentarsi sulla star e non crede a nessuna delle accuse che gli sono state rivolte in tutti questi anni.
Il lavoro non si fermerà al periodo più fiorente e produttivo di Michael Jackson, così come avvenuto per lo spettacolo di Broadway "MJ The Musical" (incentrato sul Michael del 1992) ma proseguirà per tutta la carriera del re del pop fino alla sua prematura scomparsa nel 2009. L'immensità della carriera jacksoniana potrebbe addirittura far sfociare il progetto in una miniserie. (Come avvenuto per il recente documentario di Janet Jackson)
La prima dichiarazione di Graham King riguardo l'operazione:
“I first met the Jackson family in 1981 and I’m humbled to bring their legacy to the big screen. Sitting at Dodger Stadium watching the Victory Tour, I could never have imagined that nearly 38 years later I would get the privilege to be a part of this film.”
Entusiasta anche la reazione del presidente di LionsGate, Drake, che si è assicurato i diritti di distribuzione:
“I am very excited that Lionsgate will be part of this epic film, and thrilled to be working with Graham, who has proven success in telling iconic life stories, from ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ to ‘Ali’; when combined with John, we couldn’t be in more extraordinary hands.”
E anche mamma Katherine sembra entusiasta all'idea:
“Ever since Michael was little, as a member of The Jackson 5, he loved the magic of cinema. As a family, we are honored to have our life story come alive on the big screen.”

Taj Jackson ha recentemente aggiornato i fan sulla raccolta fondi promossa per finanziare il documentario dedicato allo zio Michael e nel farlo qualche giorno fa ha condiviso un ricordo speciale legato alla sua infanzia, due minuti (degli originali 6) nei quali Michael e nipote ci mostrano il loro legame. Dopo la ri-pubblicazione dell'album ABC in black vinyl, un altro interessante articolo (questa volta in compact disc) sta per sbarcare sul mercato olandese/europeo grazie a Music On Cd. Si tratta della compilazion "Boogie" dei Jackson 5 in uscita questo mese.
‘Boogie’ is a compilation album of both previously released and unreleased tracks by The Jackson 5. ‘Boogie’ is considered the rarest of all Jackson 5/Jacksons releases. Two of the tracks on ‘Boogie’, “Love’s Gone Bad” and “I Was Made To Love Her”, were later featured on Michael Jackson’s 1986 compilation album, ‘Looking Back To Yesterday’. Five of the songs are unpublished productions. This compilation album was originally released in 1979 on the Motown sublabel Natural Resources, with the material all remixed & remastered at the Motown Recording Studios in California. ‘Boogie’ is a terrific addition to any Jacksons collection.
