Condé - Predappio - Raggio Brusa DOC Romagna Sangiovese From | Domenico Di Luccio: The Badass Wine Guy

Condé - Predappio - Raggio Brusa DOC Romagna Sangiovese

From the vineyard "Raggio Brusa" are carefully selected bunches to produce a Cru of 100% Sangiovese. The Raggio Brusa vineyard stands on an ancient coral reef, with a characteristic Spungone soil and marine tossii. The previous qualities, in addition to an East exposure, and the low amounts of buds per vine, allow the vine to produce bunches smaller than the average, with small berries and thick skin, providinq an extraordinary concentration and complexity.

The wine ages in Slovenian oak barrels of 35 Hl for 30 months.

30 months in Slovenian oak + 12 months in bottle

This Sangiovese is elegant, ethereal and solar, with a fiorai and fruity bouquet, that go along with fresh spices and sweetness.

The mouth is austere and sapid, with tannic structure and finesse, which accompanies and support a full and vivid fruit.

CONDE’ WINERY:

HISTORY:

Condé winery is located on the hills surrounding Predappio, which haslong been considered thetrue cradle of Sangiovese. The history of this variety of wine has beenclosely interwoven into that of our lands over the past two thousand years. Caio Appio, anancient Roman tribune, founded the city of Predappio in in the third century B.C., after retiringto the hills to cultivate Sanguis Iovis, or Sangiovese. These ancient origin explain the stronglink between this noble grape and our hills.

Philosophy:
Appreciation and respect for the terroir and for the traditions form thebasis of the Condé philosophy.

The desire to honour this natural and historical heritagesaw the decision to plant mostly Sangiovese grapes on the estate which were native to thePredappio hills, its chosen territiry for centuries, flanked to a lesser extent by Merlot.

The production philosophy is expressed through the constant quest forexcellence. This vision involves a continuous dialogue between man and nature. Nature dictatesthe rhythms of our work and the land dictates the timing of work in the vineyard, thecharacteristics of the grapes which control the vinification, and the young wine articulates the longsilences as it rests in the cellar.
