But why exactly are these trees so famous all over the country? Well, as you may have noticed, quite often we call Russia "mysterious". That’s because its history and folklore are filled with myths and legends. And according to one of those legends, ancient pagan Slavs considered hugging a birch tree as a sign of good luck.
