LUIS is a young vigneron that has a own distintive vision about his wine, especially i have to say, about this specific wine, ROT.
We are in Montagna (Egna) in Bolzano province in Alto Adige.

Rot is a wine made with Schiava grape with a very small touch of Lagrein.

This wine is incredibly fresh, but at the same time, deep, vibrant, with a own strutture which makes it very different from other Schiava in Alto Adige.
It has amazing drinkability.

Schiava traditionally was always considered as a wine for everyday meal, for simple food and easy drinking moments.

But this wine i believe bring this grape to the next level.

Some technical details :
vineyard surface: 0.4 ha
farming system: "Pergola Sudtirolesi semplice"
soil: clayey sand, steep, very permeable soil with permanent grassing
age of the vines: 80 years old
natural farming
harvest in 3 different times, spontaneous vinification in open tonneaux for about 3 week with 60% stem
aging: used barriques e used tonneaux
