2022-02-19 22:28:36 Halo Infinite Mid-Season Update Revealed, Includes Multiplayer And Campaign Improvements
https://www.gamespot.com/articles/halo-infinite-mid-season-update-revealed-includes-multiplayer-and-campaign-improvements/1100-6500885/?ftag=CAD-01-10abi2f

Halo Infinite (https://www.gamespot.com/games/halo-infinite/) is getting a mid-season update next week that will include changes and improvements to multiplayer and campaign alike. The update is expected to release on Thursday, February 24, and to begin with, it'll include networking updates to improve rubberbanding issues, in particular."Next week's update will add new telemetry that specifically focuses on gathering more data around instances of being shot around walls or corners. It will also have targeted improvements to reduce rubberbanding around vehicles and vehicle debris. This work will help us as we continue to improve the online experience, but it does not signify the end of the road," 343 said in a blog post (https://forums.halowaypoint.com/t/halo-infinite-update-mid-season-update/504082).The February 24 update will also address an issue with first-person animations. "If you’ve ever spotted some framerate issues while clambering or reloading (or any other first- person action), you should see those run more smoothly next week," 343 said. The patch will also make general performance and stability improvements, and 343 said it will continue to make further improvements based on reports that fans send in. And for Big Team Battle specifically, the range of the Motion Tracker in BTB will increase from 18m to 24m. "This has been a consistent piece of community feedback in BTB, especially since the update earlier this month, and we’re happy to make it a reality with this update," 343 said.343 also told fans to expect improvements to Halo Infinite's anti-cheat systems, though the developer did not reveal any specifics apart from there being "multiple improvements" in the update. For Halo Infinite's campaign, the February 24 patch will address issues with Achievements and problems related to resuming the game through the Xbox's Quick Resume feature. The full patch notes for the Halo Infinite mid-season update will be announced next week as the update's release draws closer. We'll post the patch notes on GameSpot when they're announced.Halo Infinite's first season is expected to run through May 2022. Campaign co-op and Forge (https://www.gamespot.com/articles/halo-infinite-campaign-co-op-and-forge-delayed-further-now-coming-may-2022-at-soonest/1100-6498037/), the latter of which just had a big leak (https://www.gamespot.com/articles/halo-infinite-forge-leaks-reportedly-reveal-ability-to-change-weather-and-more/1100-6500702/), are expected for release sometime after Season 1.

2022-02-19 06:06:36 Lost Ark Pirate Coins: How To Get Them And What To Use Them For
https://www.gamespot.com/articles/lost-ark-pirate-coins-how-to-get-them-and-what-to-use-them-for/1100-6500884/?ftag=CAD-01-10abi2f

Lost Ark (https://www.gamespot.com/games/lost-ark/) is filled with a dizzying amount of systems and currencies to wrap your head around, among them Pirate Coins. It's just one of Lost Ark's many currencies, and unlike the more up-front currencies like gold or silver, it's not entirely clear how to earn more Pirate Coins or what you should even be using them for.Like many things in Lost Ark, figuring out how to earn Pirate Coins can feel obtuse until you do a little digging. The coins aren't all that difficult to earn once you know how, but it's more difficult to track down what exactly you should be spending them on. This guide will break down what, exactly, you should be spending your Pirate Coins on, as well as the best ways to earn Pirate Coins as you adventure through Arkesia. What Pirate Coins Are Used ForPirate Coins are primarily used to purchase upgrade materials and recruit crew mates for your ship from various merchants found on Arkesia's seas, making it easier to navigate the world. The better upgrades you have, the easier it will be to sail the high seas without needing to worry about something going wrong. While you will unlock a variety of ships over the course of your adventure, the starter ship, the Estoque, is more than enough to carry you through the entire game. Focus on upgrading it to around level 5 before dedicating resources to the other ships in your collection.Pirate Coins can also be used to buy a few unique items from various sea merchants. Chief among these are the Song of Resonance, which is needed to unlock hidden areas and new islands for a few different quests. You'll find the Song of Resonance for sale from Treasure Hunter Igran for 16,500 Pirate Coins near Peyto, an island located west of Annika. You can also use Pirate Coins to purchase a Giant's Heart for 33,000, which can be used to unlock important items like stat increase and skill increase potions that you'll definitely want to get your hands on.How To Earn Pirate CoinsIsland Quests are the simplest way to earn a ton of Pirate Coins fast. The amount of coins needed for items like the Song of Resonance may seem large, but don't actually take all that long to earn if you know what you're doing. The simplest and most effective way to earn Pirate Coins is to complete Island quests. These are quest chains you'll find on many of the game's various islands, and they can reward you with a lot of coins for not too much time investment. Giant Mushroom island, for example, will reward you 2,000 coins for completing a single quest there, while you can earn 15,000 coins from quests on Freedom Island. That is more than enough to buy the Song of Resonance, and it shouldn't take longer than 30 minutes. You can also earn coins on Golden Wave Island, Runaways Island, Peyto and Glacier Island, Sublime Island, Blackfang's Den, Lullaby Island, and more. You'll generally start at islands that reward smaller amounts of coins, use those to upgrade your ship, and work towards islands that reward larger amounts of coins. It should be noted that completing these quests are a one-time per account. Pirate Coins are an account-wide currency, meaning you won't be able to complete these quests on multiple characters and earn the rewards multiple times. Once you've completed most of the more lucrative Island Quests, you'll want to complete daily and weekly Una's Tasks that reward Pirate Coins. You can also complete various Marine events as well as activities found with the Procyron's Compass, like Ghost Ships, to earn additional Pirate Coins. If you find yourself earning other types of coins, like Sun Coins, Gienah's Coins, or Ancient Coins, you can exchange these for Pirate Coins at the Tea and Libra Guild Vessel found docked outside all major ports. The exchange rates for

2022-02-19 04:58:21 There's a fair amount of Greenshine just lying around in the world of Horizon Forbidden West, and you'll stumble across a reasonable stockpile just by playing the game. Be sure to keep your eyes open for glowing green crystals. Greenshine will pop up just about anywhere, but it seems especially likely to form underwater; it's not a bad idea to dive into ponds and small lakes to take a look around, especially once you've cleared the "Sea of Sands" mission to go after the Poseidon subordinate function and upgraded your swimming. You can also almost always count on Greenshine being hidden behind the vines created by metal flowers (https://www.gamespot.com/articles/horizon-forbidden-west-metal-flowers-guide-how-to-cut-vines-and-access-hidden-areas/1100-6500876/), and often behind walls marked by Firegleam. These locations will automatically be marked on your map as you find them in the world, although you won't unlock the ability to interact with Firegleam or metal flowers until you've passed a certain point in the main story. The best place to find Greenshine, though, is in Sunken Caverns. These are optional locations that don't pop up on your map until you investigate them--until you actually go to those spots, they'll remain question marks. Sunken Caverns are underwater caves filled with Greenshine, where there are at least a few pieces to pick up; you'll know you've gotten them all when the Cavern is marked "complete." You'll reliably find a lot of Greenshine in these places, so it's best to seek them out if you need some. How to use GreenshineThough it can be tough to come by Greenshine, the good news is that you won't need it for everything. It seems to only be necessary for upgrading certain weapons and armor--specifically some of the best gear you'll find. Don't expect to have to spend Greenshine on Common (green) or Rare (blue) weapons and armor. Instead, you'll reserve it for Very Rare (purple) or Legendary (orange) gear, the best of the best. And even then, you won't always need Greenshine for those upgrades. It's a good idea to upgrade your favorite gear as best as you can, since those upgrades can be significant, adding new perks to your equipment and opening up more slots for coils and weaves. If you're short on a component, including Greenshine, you can tap the Triangle button to create a "Job" that'll help make scavenging that component easier. Having a Job to find Greenshine will mark it on your map, making it easier to track down, too.For more on Sony's huge sequel, don't miss our tips for beginners (https://www.gamespot.com/articles/horizon-forbidden-west-tips-for-beginners/1100-6500663/), as well as a look at the best skills to get early (https://www.gamespot.com/articles/horizon-forbidden-west-best-skills-to-get-early/1100-6500728/), a complete guide to the mounts you can unlock in the game (https://www.gamespot.com/articles/horizon-forbidden-west-mounts-guide-how-to-unlock-them-all/1100-6500779/), a list of all Cauldron locations (https://www.gamespot.com/articles/horizon-forbidden-west-cauldrons-guide-locations-and-machine-overrides/1100-6500829/), and a rundown of legendary weapons (https://www.gamespot.com/articles/horizon-forbidden-west-legendary-weapons-guide-the-best-weapons-on-aloys-adventure/1100-6500782/) and what seems like the game's best armor (https://www.gamespot.com/articles/horizon-forbidden-west-legendary-armor-how-to-get-oseram-artificer-armor-set/1100-6500821/). Crafting weapons, ammo, and equipment upgrades requires you to gather a lot of materials in Horizon Forbidden West (https://www.gamespot.com/games/horizon-forbidden-west/), but one of the rarer and more important ones is Greenshine. This glowing green mineral is required to upgrade some of the best weapons and armor you can get in the game, taking them from "pretty good" to "absolutely excellent." Trouble is, finding Greenshine isn't exactly easy, and you're going to want a lot of the rare mineral.Finding Greenshine can be tough, but luckily, there are a few specific locations where you can reliably find some, especially late in the game. Here's what you need to know about where to get Greenshine whenever you need some, and what you can use it to do in the game.Where to find Greenshine

2022-02-19 04:14:39 The Collector's Edition contains another report from Fenchurch (https://www.gamespot.com/articles/destiny-2-witch-queen-collectors-edition-finally-sheds-light-on-eris-and-mara-after-forsaken/1100-6500878/) that, finally, explains that earlier report. It answers some questions, like the identity of the other person in the original vision (it's Mara Sov, actually), and raises others. It also gives a hint of what Mara's role might be in the story of The Witch Queen and beyond. It's all very fascinating. The hours between us and The Witch Queen are dwindling, but there's still more to unpack, like the Vanguard-like Hive transmissions Bungie is sharing on its Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/p/CaILeeksejt/), or the two days in which Savathun apparently took over the Destiny Twitter account (https://twitter.com/DestinyTheGame/status/1494351191479918593). Expect a lot more to talk about next week; hopefully there will be enough time to write this column. In the meantime, feel free to share the strange, interesting, or mysterious story hints that are baking your noodles in the comments below.

2022-02-19 04:14:37 The lore book talks about Ikora's run-ins with the Ahamkara, the Destiny universe's frightening, shape-shifting dragons that are basically trickster gods running monkey's paw scams. Back before the era we play the game in, Guardians took part in something called the Great Hunt to eliminate all the Ahamkara, Ikora included. She nearly got killed by one Ahamkara as it tricked her into making a wish, only to be saved by the legendary Guardian Wei Ning, and defeated another Ahamkara by, essentially, wishing to be someone who could not be tempted by wishes. There's a big implication that meditative, even-tempered Ikora exists because that's who she needed to be to survive the Great Hunt.In the journal, Ikora is extremely worried nobody likes her, because if nobody likes Ikora, nobody will trust her, and if nobody trusts her, they're not going to follow her as she tries to lead them against the growing threat of the Darkness. It's a fun problem to hint at, drawing us closer to the Warlock Vanguard than we've ever been, while also making it clear what massive repercussions something like Ikora's likeability factor can be for the Destiny 2 story at large. I really think we're going to get into Ikora's head a lot more in the coming year--she's clearly the central figure of The Witch Queen's story, as Elsie Bray was central to Beyond Light. We're getting some character development because of that, and I'm expecting a lot more. The journal also includes a few other fun tidbits I mean to dig into deeper in articles in the next few days. One is that there's a whole group of Ghosts who kind of function as conscientious objectors--they haven't found their Guardians, and they like to hang around talking about whether they ever will. There's a suggestion in the report about those Ghosts that they might be purposely avoiding finding Guardians. And since we know the Hive wind up with Ghosts in The Witch Queen, we get a very real implication that maybe those Hive Ghosts chose to switch sides. The report discusses how the Ghosts are fascinated by the Books of Sorrow, the Hive creation myth, and how they think the Hive are a victim class manipulated by their worms. Maybe it's not the Traveler that betrays humanity, but the Ghosts who don't agree with them. There are some other things worth mentioning, but my favorite is a report from Fenchurch Eververse--yeah, that Fenchurch. There aren't a ton of lore entries about the guy, but we know that when the Guardian isn't sourcing antiquities and oddities for the Eververse Store out in the field, he's working as one of Ikora's Hidden. Back during the Season of the Drifter in 2019, a report from Fenchurch (https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/fragment) served as a particularly weird lore entry with some strange implications. In it, he had a dream about Eris, woke up to find a Hive thrall standing over him acting strangely, and killed it to discover a chunk of black material that, when touched, gave him another vision of Eris. For years, that lore entry alluded to some weirdness, but we never fully understood it.
