It's simple. SOTFS is by far the hardest Souls game to complete.
1ncels absolutely cannot stand fighting more than one enemy at once, with no poise or chain backstabbing to save them.
3tards cannot comprehend the idea of stamina management and facing an opponent without resorting to r1 and roll spam.
Even vanilla 2 fans were filtered by the more punishing enemy placements, the Forlorn invaders, and of course, the DLCs.
For fans of a franchise that esteem the series for its "difficulty," the praise curiously seems to halt at Scholar.
The filtered fools will drop the game and dismiss it entirely, hiding behind false reasons and slander.
"Unfinished! Janky!" Cry the hypocritical 1ncels.
"Soul memory! ADP!" Cry the casual 3tards.
"Too many enemies! It's all ganks!" Cry the filtered vanilla 2 fans.
But a true fan, of course, would not give in to the cries. He would appreciate the definite best Souls game, despite the backlash. He would spread his love against the sea of hate, the endless river of tears.
Scholar of the First Sin is a game that is enjoyed only by scholars. And perhaps the first sin is willful ignorance. Ignorance of its clear superiority above its predecessor and successor.
