Mirai (japanese for "future) is gazing upon the rising sun, while Yume (japanese for "dream") turns to the night, the time when minds are less clear, ready to dream. They look towards one another because they're mutually dependant: dreams must have a foundation in reality to bloom, while there can be no expectation for the future without imagination and aspiration. The sphere represents the individual, where these two sides converge.
